Can your church make a commitment to support the movement to end UK poverty?

I’ve seen personally what difference we can make when we work together to reclaim dignity, agency and power. With support from Church Action on Poverty, I’ve been part of a Poverty Truth Commission and the ‘Speaking Truth to Power’ programme. I’ve been able to speak out about my own experiences of the disability benefits system, and achieve real change in Manchester and beyond.

I want all Christians to take seriously the command of God that we pursue justice for the poor and oppressed. The committed support of churches like yours gives Church Action on Poverty the stable base it needs to grow and resource the movement that’s reclaiming dignity, agency and power. Could your church now make a commitment to donate regularly?

Could you collectively make a donation each year? The money could come from a collection, or from your church’s mission allocation, or by making Church Action on Poverty one of your named charities to support. £100 or £200 a year could make a real difference, resourcing more groups and people to speak truth to power as I’ve been able to.
