Voices from the Margins conference reports: Sheffield Pilgrimage
At our annual conference in Sheffield on 18 November, churches and projects shared stories of how they are listening to voices from the margins of society – and we talked about how we can truly become a ‘church of the poor’. This week we’re sharing some of the stories we heard. Today: the Sheffield Pilgrimage.
Inspired by Church Action on Poverty’s 1999 ‘Pilgrimage Against Poverty’, our local group in Sheffield has been holding an annual Pilgrimage for nine years: walking, praying and visiting church-based social action projects in the city.
At the conference, group members shared photos and reflections from the Pilgrimages – including stories of life-changing experiences.
